Intersection of Washington and Center Avenues
This road course is flat and fast! Both the 5K and 8K races start and finish at the intersection between Center and Washington Avenues in downtown Bay City. The routes head East along Center before turning North on Park Ave...
From Park Ave, the course turns back West at 2nd Street and then South on N Trumball Street before returning to Center Avenue where runners and walkers will turn Westward and make the long straightaway to the finish line.
From Park Ave, runners will turn and head East onto Nebobish until reaching a turnaround point and heading back to Park Ave where they will turn Southward. Runners will turn right at 2nd Street and head Westward before turning left (Southward) on N Trumball. The route then goes to Center Avenue where participants will turn Westward and begin the long straightaway to the finish line.

Leprechaun Runs: Sat March 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Dow Bay Area Family YMCA, 225 Washington Ave, Bay City MI. Online registration is available now - through March 16th @ 9pm or on site (Saturday) from 10:00 am to 1:45 pm. All kids get a T-shirt (not guaranteed after Feb 28, 2017) There is a 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, and 1 mile races. All finishers will receive a medal. Parents may run with the children at no cost. Children may run more than one race at no extra charge, but will only receive one medal.
BARC Fitness Expo: 12th Annual BARC Fitness Expo is Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA. This is also packet pick up and late registration. Come early, first 750 participants will receive a giveaway when they pick-up their registration packet. If you would like to be an exhibitor at the Expo, please read and complete the BARC Fitness Expo Contract. Come shop, explore, and enjoy some local merchants and entertainment.
Awards: Awards are for Overall 1st. - 3rd, Masters 1st. - 3rd. and Top 3 in each age group for 8K, 5K run and 5K walk races, they will be available 3-4 weeks after race at The Sweet Boutique, 816 Washington in Downtown Bay City, Michigan until May 31, 2017.

There is a special shirt and a special medal for this event. All Irish Double participants will receive 2 medals, 1 regular and 1 special.

Can you sign up for the race at the Expo? Yes, on site registration is available from 10 AM to 3 PM; please note shirts are not guaranteed at late registration. If you want to run the Irish Double, you must register before February 28, 2017 by midnight or until the 750 cap is reached. Parking for the Expo is at the Uptown parking lots and street parking. Do not park at the Y, parking is for members.

Are there hills on the course? No - very flat in Bay City no hills- Out and back course on city streets -very fast!
Are there bathrooms available? Yes- port-a-johns will be near the start/finish line area.
Are there finisher medals? Yes- marathon quality medals for every finisher.
Are there awards? Yes - Awards are for overall 1st - 3rd and masters 1st through 3rd, and top 3 in each age group for 5K and 8K races, they will be MAILED 6-8 weeks after race...please be patient!!!!!
Is there a special medal for the Irish Double? Yes, if you complete both races (8K & 5K run) you will receive a special medal for the Irish Double along with one regular finisher medal for a total of 2 medals.
Can I run and walk? Yes, but you must sign up for the run. No running is allowed if you are registered for the walk.
Is there a shower available? Yes -- keep your bib with you and the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA, 225 Washington Ave will allow you to shower at their facility - bring your own towel - Please!
Can I use or bring: my dog, a stroller, in-line skates, or bicycles? No, due to our liability insurance we cannot allow these things on the course. The course will be crowded so please do not jeopardize your safety or the safety of others.
Will you have refreshments at the finish line area? YES -- plenty of refreshments!
If my family takes some really good pictures at the race and I want to share them -can I send them somewhere? YES -- we are always looking for good pictures! Please contact Tritofinish. You can also post them on the Bay Area Runners Club Facebook page.
Where and when can I find results? Results are posted the afternoon of the race - at gaultracemanagement.com or on runmichigan.com.

I am walking with a group of friends; can we all walk side by side? Whether walking or running, please limit the across width to be no more than three across -- at max --Two is preferred! Some of the streets are narrow and you MUST allow room for others to pass! Be courteous out there - we are all friends!
Are there any aid stations on the course? Yes- you will find one aid station for the 5K on the corner of 2nd Street and Park. Water only. There also will be one on the 8K course at Nebobish and Marshall. Water only.
We completely understand that plans change and athletes will sometimes be unable to compete in an event they've signed up for. Unfortunately, refunds will not be provided for this event.
