Birch Run Charity Run 2012 2012 Overview

Join us in the 3rd Annual Birch Run Charity Road Race, we recieved outstanding feedback from both spectators and participants about the finish line excitement and giveaways. The originators of the event were able to give $2000 to the Birch Run School Elementary School for the expansion of the projector and virtual chalkboard experience in three seperate classrooms. This fundraising is only possible through folks like yourself who came out last year and embraced the event and its charitable recipients. We are excited to say this year we will continue with free kids race under 8 and our sponsors will be providing those kids with free tshirts, youth invovlement is very important. Come out and embrace a great Sunday afternoon and our expanded 5K course, and stretch your legs for the flat and fast 10K course, we promise accuracy this year in the courses!

Course Description:

10k Run/Walk
The 10k run will begin at 1pm at Birch Run High School. Runners will head south on Church St (which becomes Maple Rd.). At 2.5km runners will turn right on Willard. Continue on Willard to the turnaround at Elms Rd. Turn around heading east on Willard. Turn left on Maple Rd. Continue down Maple Rd. until you take a right into the sports complex. Complete loop around the perimeter of the sports complex and back to Maple Rd. Turn right on Maple Rd heading north. Continue on Maple, pass the high school, and to the finish line at Main St. DO NOT turn right on Poellet St. ONLY 5k runners will complete the short out and back on Poellet St.

5k Run/Walk
The 5k run will begin at 1:05pm at Birch Run High School. Runners will head south on Church St (which becomes Maple Rd.). At 1km veer left into the sports complex and complete loop around the perimeter. Return to Maple Rd by turning right and heading north. Pass the High School and turn right onto Poellet St. Complete short out and back on Poellet. Turn right on Church St. and head north to finish at Main St.

Packet Pickup and Registration:

Late registration and packet pickup will take place under the Tri To Finish tent at Birch Run High School on race morning from 11:30am-12:45pm. Be sure to arrive with plenty of time to receive your bib number and chip timer. You MUST bring a valid ID with you when picking up your packet.

If pre-registered, proceed to the pre-registered table to receive your bib. After receiving your number collect your timing chip and the timing table.

If you plan to register the morning of the event arrive early and proceed to the late registration table. Fill out the athlete forms and waivers and proceed to the late registration table to collect your bib and pay your entry fee. After receiving your bib proceed to the timing table to receive your chip.
